A note before we start: this comparison is published by CoreBookings. Product and pricing facts below come from the vendors' public pages and help centres, checked on 3 October 2026.
Arketa does not publish Australian Studio prices or an Australian payment schedule. Public forum comments are individual experiences, not a survey, and most do not identify the country.
Ask both vendors for a written quote for your actual setup. For other Australian comparisons, see Mindbody, Momence and WellnessLiving.

Pricing: The Headline Is Not the Total
CoreBookings pricing
- Starter: A$59/month + GST. Unlimited clients, class bookings, workshops, pass packs, one location, newsletters and email support.
- Growth: A$99/month + GST. Adds recurring memberships, product sales, coupons, manual waitlists, the teacher app and two rooms at one location.
- Scale: A$149/month + GST. Adds automatic waitlists, multiple rooms, marketing automations, and hands-on support and onboarding.
Payments go to your own Stripe account. The platform charge is 1% in addition to Stripe. SMS marketing is an optional A$19/month add-on, then you buy prepaid credits. A branded app is also an add-on with no public price, so ask for one.
Stripe Australia currently publishes 1.65% + A$0.30 for standard domestic online card payments, so the published domestic stack is about 2.65% + A$0.30. Custom and international rates can differ.

Arketa pricing
Arketa's pricing page advertises:
- Individual: $49/month billed annually. The currency is not labelled. It includes one team login, scheduling for classes, privates and events, CRM, memberships, packages, an unlimited on-demand library and booking widgets. The platform fee is 3% plus Stripe.
- Studio Core: custom price. Adds unlimited team members, multiple rooms and locations, POS, staff management, payroll reporting and dedicated account management.
- Studio Growth: custom price. Adds email and text campaigns, automated workflows, lead management, an AI email builder, tasks and 1:1 texting.
- Studio Suite: custom price. Adds a branded app, Apple TV and Roku, push notifications, a branded website and advertising integrations.
The public page does not identify the $49 currency, show the month-to-month Individual price, or show any Studio subscription.
It also lists branded apps, websites, marketing, accounting and bookkeeping as add-ons without prices. A studio with two teachers cannot use the one-login Individual price as its realistic comparison.

The percentage fee can cost more than the subscription
Arketa's fee guide lists a 9% Arketa fee for Starter, 3% for Individual and 0% to 3% for Studios, each on top of Stripe. Starter does not appear on the current public pricing page.
Ask which fee applies to every type of sale, including recurring memberships, and whether the rate changes by Studio plan.
At A$15,000 in monthly card revenue, a 3% platform fee is A$450 before Stripe and the subscription. At A$30,000 it is A$900. That is why a written payment schedule matters more than a small difference in the monthly software price. Model your own figures in the calculator below.

Payments, Payouts and Messaging
Most Arketa accounts do not have a Stripe dashboard
Arketa's Stripe overview says most partners use managed Stripe Connect custom accounts and do not receive a separate Stripe dashboard.
A small number of legacy Standard accounts retain dashboard access, and Arketa says Custom accounts cannot currently migrate to Standard. Ask which setup your Australian studio will receive, who controls disputes and refunds, and which reports remain available after cancellation.
Arketa's payout guide says new accounts begin with manual payouts. Automatic weekly or monthly payouts need an account at least 14 days old, an active subscription and Arketa approval. Confirm your payout schedule before launch if regular cash flow matters.
SMS credits are not the same as messages
Arketa says each account includes 10,000 marketing emails and 2,500 SMS credits per month. Credits depend on message length and country.
Its public help article lists rates for US, Canadian and UK numbers but not Australia. Overage is shown as $0.015 per credit, with no currency label on the article.
Ask how many credits an Australian segment uses and which currency applies.
The Contract Is Part of the Price
CoreBookings publishes cancel-anytime terms and a three-month money-back guarantee.
Arketa's pricing FAQ says plans renew month to month unless you choose annual billing, and that you can upgrade or downgrade at any time.
It does not explain annual cancellation, notice periods or what happens to data access after cancellation. Ask for those terms in writing before accepting an annual discount.
What Owners Say in Public Forums
We reviewed publicly indexed Reddit discussions. They are not an Australian sample and they do not measure typical results.
We found more public discussion about Arketa than CoreBookings, so this section is due diligence on Arketa rather than a balanced satisfaction survey.
Why some owners choose Arketa
In an r/pilates discussion, one owner who had used Mindbody and Momence said they were very happy after moving to Arketa. They praised the support team, peace of mind and ability to customise the app.
In an r/YogaTeachers thread, another teacher said they had loved Arketa for booking in-person yoga events and found customer service notably good.
Reporting, reliability and support concerns
The same r/pilates discussion contains sharply different experiences. One former user said clients found the system difficult, reports did not look right, features broke and support was slow. Other commenters advised comparing several systems rather than relying on a sales offer.
In the r/YogaTeachers discussion, one studio described booking errors, poor reports and trouble getting sales funds deposited on the schedule they wanted.
Another individual instructor said Arketa cancelled a requested demo and directed them to a trial and training videos. Those experiences may reflect different plans and business sizes.
Migration needs a written scope
In an r/pilates migration thread, an owner said a promised three years of history did not arrive as expected. They reported receiving current packages and total attendance counts rather than complete purchase and class histories.
A commenter described calendar, payroll and cancellation problems. These are individual claims, but they point to a practical safeguard: list every field and year of history in the migration agreement, then inspect a sample before go-live. CoreBookings also publishes a general import guide for other booking systems.
Forum comments are individual, unaudited experiences. They are not evidence of typical results. Quotes have been paraphrased to preserve context and avoid overstating isolated claims.
How They Compare Day to Day
Classes, privates and on-demand content
CoreBookings: built around studio timetables, workshops, courses, passes, memberships, teachers, rooms, capacities and waitlists. See product and features for the full list.
Arketa: combines classes, private appointments, events and an unlimited on-demand library.
That is a stronger published fit for a business selling both live bookings and a substantial online or hybrid class membership.
Marketing and lead management
CoreBookings: newsletters are included across plans and marketing automations are on Scale. SMS is an optional A$19 monthly add-on plus credits.
Arketa: Studio Growth publishes campaigns, workflows, lead pipelines, task management, an AI email builder and 1:1 text messaging. Its Studio price and Australian SMS credit rate are not public.
Multiple locations and branded products
CoreBookings: Scale is designed for multiple rooms and locations. A branded app is available by quote.
Arketa: Studio Core includes multiple rooms and locations. Suite adds a branded mobile app and website, Apple TV and Roku, push notifications and ad integrations.
These are broader published digital tools, but Suite is quote-only.
Australian operations
CoreBookings publishes prices in AUD plus GST on the pricing page, has an Australian support team, and includes private health claim details.
Arketa can charge clients in a selected currency and is available where Stripe operates, but its public pages do not show an Australian subscription, payment rate, SMS credit rate or private health receipt workflow. Test those items in the demo.
Realistic Australian Studio Scenarios
Solo teacher with one login
New yoga teachers often start on CoreBookings Starter at A$59 + GST. Arketa Individual is advertised at $49 per month on annual billing, with an unlabelled currency and a 3% fee plus Stripe.
If you process A$15,000 each month, that 3% alone is A$450. Enter the actual currency and processor schedule in the calculator.
Studio with two or more teachers
Arketa Individual includes one team login, so it is not the right comparison.
Put CoreBookings Growth or Scale against an Arketa Studio Core quote. Include the Studio platform percentage, Stripe rate, GST treatment, migration and any add-ons. If you are opening a site, read booking software for new yoga studios for a starter checklist.
Content-led or multi-location brand
Arketa has the broader published toolkit for on-demand video, private appointments, multiple locations, lead pipelines, a branded app and a branded website. CoreBookings has the clearer Australian cost.
The choice depends on whether those extra tools replace other subscriptions and produce enough value to justify the quote.
Switching from Arketa to CoreBookings
- Confirm whether your Arketa account is month to month or annual and request the cancellation process in writing.
- Export clients, active passes, memberships, payment reports, attendance, waivers and any history you must retain.
- Compare the export with the migration scope before Arketa access ends.
- Send the agreed files to CoreBookings at support@kriya.com.au.
- Rebuild passes and memberships, then test a booking, payment, cancellation, refund and health-fund receipt.
- Keep written confirmation of the final Arketa billing and payout dates.
See the full switching to CoreBookings guide for the migration checklist and client email template.
Common Questions
How much does Arketa cost in Australia?
Arketa advertises Individual at $49 per month on annual billing, but does not label the currency. Studio Core, Growth and Suite are custom priced.
Add the quoted subscription, GST treatment, platform fee, Stripe processing, messaging overages and add-ons before comparing it with an Australian plan.
What transaction fees does Arketa charge?
Arketa publishes 3% for Individual and lists Studio fees from 0% to 3%, both plus Stripe.
Its help centre also lists a 9% Starter fee, although Starter is not on the current pricing page. Ask which fee applies to your plan and recurring memberships.
Is Arketa cheaper than CoreBookings?
The subscription alone cannot answer that. CoreBookings publishes A$59, A$99 and A$149 plus GST.
Arketa Studio prices and Australian processing rates are not public. For Individual, the 3% Arketa fee can exceed the software subscription once card revenue grows. Compare totals with our WellnessLiving comparison if you are weighing US-style platforms.
Does Arketa lock studios into a contract?
Arketa says plans are month to month unless you select annual billing. The public FAQ does not explain annual cancellation.
Request notice periods, renewal pricing, cancellation terms and post-cancellation data access in writing.
So, Which One Should You Choose?
CoreBookings offers clearer Australian pricing and a simpler fit for independent class studios.
The subscription, GST treatment, payment structure and cancellation position are published, and support is based in Australia.
Arketa provides a broader digital, marketing and multi-location toolkit. It is the stronger published fit if private appointments, on-demand content, lead pipelines, a branded app and a branded website are central to the business.
Australian studios need a written quote to establish the real subscription, processing and messaging costs.
